Chef/Owner Rohit Singh repeats the formula he perfected at Breads in Berkeley and Walnut Creek - cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients and changing menus daily. He is dedicated to serving classic and regional Indian cuisine. This new location, designed to reflect the early 20th century Raj era, also presents a full bar. Singh offers over 170 varieties of breads and over 700 dishes through a daily changing menu. Breads of India features tandoori dishes, elaborate curries and breads from different parts of the country. The daily menu provides fine descriptions of the dishes, including how each dish is prepared and its regional origin. The kitchen focuses on serving free-range meats, fresh vegetables and home-made spice blends, organic flour and third party certified organic basmati rice - perfect requirement for the savvy, food conscious Bay Area.

    At the Oakland location, Singh presents curries (lamb, chicken or vegetarian) flavored with extra-ordinary ingredients like pomegranate juice, pistachios, saffron, pine nuts, fresh coconut, onion seeds, paired with breads - tandoor baked or griddle cooked flavored with garlic chive, ginger with jajapenos, spicy potatoes, oriental basil, oregano seeds, fresh baby fennel. Not to miss are the sizzling tandoori specialties which include a choice of lean pork chops, free-range chicken breast, Atlantic salmon or jumbo prawns marinated over-night in a home blend of spices, yoghurt, lemon, olive oil and then baked in an indian clay oven.
